Where are you?
Out buying last-minute things for the tour. I love shopping and that’s a great excuse to get some new clothes.
What are you currently listening to?
The Script by the Script. It’s amazing and is on constantly in my car and house.
Who is your favourite band?
Definitely the Script but there are a lot of new artists I’m into.
If you could have written one song, which would it be?
Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. I would love to have written a song that inspired such a cutting-edge video.
What distracts you from work?
Watching Heroes – I’m addicted. I have the DVD on while I’m cleaning and watch it on TV and then the repeat the following week. I think I need to get out more.
What did you want to be as a child?
I always wanted to be a singer so I couldn’t have asked for more, really.
Who is your greatest inspiration in the art world?
I’m not really inspired by art but I like the storm Bansky has created. I like that he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. I love his imagination and ability to get into all those places without being spotted.
The song that changed my life is…
“Summer Loving” by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. That was the first record I owned and made me want to sing out loud. And I sang it in the school play – but I was John Travolta!
Who is your hero?
Nelson Mandela, because he has so much compassion and forgiveness.
Gabrielle is touring with Al Green until 6 November
